For 9 months we have wanted to get Judah's teeth fixed but were told no. We couldn't fix them because if his osteoporosis. His osteoporosis is so bad that his jaw bone would break or crumble if attempted. The specialists said we could discuss it again a year after his treatment. I made him another appointment to the dentist and told her to look in his mouth and tell me what she thought. "He doesn't have a year to wait." She said.
Our dentist took down all of Judah's specialists numbers and called them. A week later she called me back to tell me they all agree that he can't wait. She referred me to a pediatric specialist who has privileges at the hospital Judah goes too. We went there today. He looked. "Putrid" is the word he used.
The specialist wants us to get him to the hospital next month to get this done. Just from looking he needs all his molars removed. Possibly his adult front teeth. And then probably ever other tooth in his mouth. All baby teeth will come out and any hard to get teeth will be cut in half and then taken so that they don't break the jaw bone. He says Judah has to be in pain. Once he is all healed he can't wait to see him back he said because parents usually report such a difference after.
Judah may need dental implants after the surgery if they need to take his permanent teeth. We also need to brush his teeth twice a day so that his gums can heal more before the surgery so they will heal faster after the surgery. After the surgery the smell will be gone. The pain, gone. All gone! Praise The Lord!
We were told our medical insurance will not pay for the hospital which is 5000.00. That is just to use the facility. That doesn't include any doctors or any dental work. The dentist said whatever our allotment is for dental he will max it out for sure and we will pay what's left. They will also try to get the insurance to pay since it is medically necessary but our insurance doesn't care. Judah needs to eat and formula is medically necessary but they don't care, they denied him.
God brought the finances we needed to bring home our children He certainly isn't going to drop us now. I know some of you may be thinking well why did she even adopt them if not financially able to care for them. We could pay all our bills and charitable donations. We lived an easy life. Things were good and we were blessed and highly favored. We had no idea that when we brought them home upon meeting our out of pocket max the insurance would get angry and stop paying all of their portion. We had two other kids with sn at the time and had no issues.
Knowing all I know about the cost financially and emotionally that we would go through adopting the boys would I do it again. Yes.
I am so glad that Jesus went through hell for me and didn't say it's not worth it I'm outta here. It is hard to pick up your cross and carry it day after day. There is a cost to follow your faith. People will attack you. Life will drag you down. But it is worth it. Always.
I'm learning that we aren't meant to go at this life alone. We are to be the hands and feet of Jesus. We are also suppose to accept help when we need it. There is no shame or condemnation in asking for help. I love to give but the hardest thing for me to do is take and yet I seem to always be put in a position that requires me to humble myself and accept help. It's a struggle for me personally. I long for the day when I can write someone a 15,000.00. Heck to help them with an adoption or medical or housing or whatever need they may have. The Bible says that "my God shall supply all your needs according to His riches in glory." The Word also says in Matthew, "Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?" I know how much God loves Judah. He will meet every need. Please pray for Judah. Pray that his bones strengthen and the therapy works faster than expected. Pray for him as he starts school. Pray for his upcoming surgery. That it is funded and he will be completely healed in his mouth. Thank you all so much.
