My family has been under attack for about a week now. Its been hard, but I know that all things work together for good for those who love God and are called according to His purpose. We definitely are called. I dont think I would be having 8 kids if we werent lol!
First it was the car. Dang thing! This will be the 2nd or 3rd time since agreeing to adopt that it went on us. So we fixed it. Then it went again. Ugh! Fixed it a second time and still not right so need to fix it again. Fun! Paul knows how to fix it by now so we save a bit of money on labor.
Then I was at Kohls during a shooting that killed a guy. God kept me protected and out of the line of fire and sight. I had a few rough days after but now am fine. I dont intend on shopping there again for a while but otherwise Im good.
Kidney Stone! Lord have mercy...and He did. After being in unimaginable pain and feeling like I wanted to crawl out of my skin. I prayed and showered and bathed and took pills and prayed and bathed and showered and prayed and prayed and prayed. Then we called a dr and he said ER! I said NO WAY! So then I waited until Carenow opened and got in to see them. Got an antibiotic and went home to rest.
Toothache. Still painful. Still getting worse. Still unable to pay the dentist. So still not getting it fixed. That is a constant pain. I wake up with and go to sleep with, tooth ear and throat pain. Throat because the lymph nodes are infected and swollen.
Paul and I getting into a fight.
So I am getting knocked down over and over again and by the weekend after the dinner I am barely standing. In my mind I see me in the corner of the ring all bloody and bruised, eyes swollen, being held under my armpits by God. The only way I am standing is because He is holding me up. I know I am going to have to fight again but my body is tired. I am weak. I complain. But when we are in the thick of it, when we feel like we have run out of extra lives, when we feel beat down and know we cant take it no more! That...that is when we know, when we should have faith that something big is happening. Something so big that satan wants us down and out so we cant receive it.
What happened? Well, after all that stuff went on from car to kidneys we get a donation for 410.00 in the mail. THAT IS HUGE!!!!! Then after the horrible weekend we are told that the family who made all that pasta for us, bought it, cooked it, cleaned up and all that, well they want to give us the amount we paid for them to do that back to us as a donation to our adoption! 300.! Bam! God is good!!!
So even though I am bloody, broken and swollen and in pain and can barely stand I see Jesus behind me lifting my arm up as we stand in the middle of the ring winners! I have never doubted God in all of this. When we agreed to these boys I had a supernatural peace about this adoption. That feeling has never left me. The spiritual warfare has been hard though and sometimes I get so weak I just want things the way they use to be. But then I remind myself of two things.....
1. This is the only hell I will ever know because I have a Savior who died for me, who loves me and because I love and accepted Him I get to go into eternity with Him and never have to be hurt again!!!
And 2. And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose. Romans 8:28
Thank You Lord for never leaving or forsaking me. Not for a moment did You forsake me.
Be blessed
God didn't say natural children are a blessing He said children are a blessing. How they got in my quiver doesn't matter because they are all my arrows.

Spaghetti Dinner
The spaghetti dinner brought in 830.00 156 homeless were fed hot meals that night after the dinner. One man on the street accepted Jesus into his heart and life. I would say it was a great success. Please pray that our auction would be successful and that we would reach our goal of 5000. before travel
Our bold prayer is that I travel next month. That means we still need about 3500. Please if you feel led to, donate. Over to your right there is a wepay button you can donate online there. If you would like to send it in the mail leave me a comment with your email and I will send you our address.
Thank you so much for everything!

Pulling out the big guns...literally
I decided to go vote today. Then since our dinner is tomorrow and I had Kohls cash I headed over to Kohls for a new shirt. I tried on a ton and then found the one I wanted it was 12.00 and I had 10.00 Kohls cash. That bugged me. I wanted it to be under not over. As I walked out of the dressing room I hung the clothes I didnt want up and saw a shirt exactly like the one I had chosen only a different color. It was 5.00 I decided to go try it on. It was the same shirt, same style, diff color but same size I thought I dont need to try it on I need to get home but I went back to try it on.
I shut the door to the dressing room. I hung up the 2 shirts. I looked at my phone because I had a text from Paul. Then I heard them BAM BAM BAM!!! I knew right away they were gun shots but seriously a gun in Kohls that wouldnt happen. So I rationalized. Is it a song with gunshots in it? But I felt them in my chest you know like the sound was in my chest. It was like being at a parade and hearing the drums how they get inside you.
I opened the door and carefully walked out to the store area. I heard "HOLD ON HELP IS ON THE WAY HOLD ON!!!" Then I saw a woman ushering her two kids saying "shhh, shh keep quiet, move fast" I ask her if there was a gunman but I dont know if she heard me. All I knew is that gunshots were fired and I heard help was on the way but I didnt hear any. I was scared.
I ran back into the dressing room and hid where no one could see my feet under the door. I called Paul but he didnt answer I tried again, nothing. I was shaking so bad my fingers and knees I dialed a friend...no answer, then my MIL, no answer, then God. God please please please.....I didnt have any words I wasnt thinking clearly I just pleaded and cried. But isnt is awesome that we serve a God who like a daddy knows our cries and helps us. Thank you Lord. I tried Paul again and no answer then I did what any young person would do I went to facebook. I needed someone to know I was there. I needed someone to pray and get a hold of my husband. I tried one more time calling my friend. She answered.
"Im at Kohls someone is shooting" I whispered."Gunshots went off and Im here and I cant get a hold of Paul." I honestly dont know what she said but her tone was comforting. She got her husband or father to call 911 just in case and she told me to hide. I did. Then I heard a womans voice "Hello? Hello? Is anyone in here?" I immediately went for the handle of the door and turned it open. When I did I thought STUPID! You dont know who this person is!
But God knew I was going to make that stupid move so the person there was a worker. She ask if I was alone and I said yes and then she said I had to get to the back of the store fast. We ran back there. I hung up with my friend, she would call Paul. I got back to the employees lounge and there were a lot of people in there. Some were crying, some were in shock, some like me didnt let the tears fall but they were ready and willing right there in their eyes, some were on their phones texting, there were babies and workers.
The police came in. I overheard workers, "It was over a stupid tablet! Can you believe that? He was trying to steal a tablet!" Someone else said, "He had a gun in his bag and was threatening the officer. He wouldnt stop." "He got shot over a tablet." I ask when I could leave and a woman walked me to the emergency door.
I got outside and felt the air. I didnt know where I was for a minute. I looked around and I was at the back of the building. I felt very exposed. I had to walk around the side of the building and the length of the building then around the front and to the other side where the car was. I cant really explain it but I just felt so open. I was still scared. I wouldnt cry though. Not until I was alone.
The front of the store was a mess. I saw a few helicopters above me and people in the parking lot. There were cops everywhere. An ambulance was loading a man. I only saw his legs. His clothes were ripped off. His leg was in a brace. I finally got to the truck and I got in and laid my head on the steering wheel. My legs were still shaking. I live about 4 mins or so from Kohls. It took forever to get home. I hit all the lights and traffic was a mess. Sirens were everywhere, then a train, I had to put the truck in park every time I stopped because my feet were shaking so much.
When I got home Paul was waiting for me. More helicopters were overhead. I laid my head on Pauls chest and just wanted to get inside. Once I got inside I still felt too open. I greeted the kids like nothing happened. My body was starting to really hurt. My head is killing me. My whole body feels like I was in a car accident or something. I cant explain it but everything hurts. I went to my bedroom but still didnt feel safe. I called my friend to let her know I was out. She said satan was pulling out the big guns literally to try and keep our family from the dinner tomorrow. Lol. I am so glad my God is bigger. I promised her I would go lay down and I hung up the phone.
I went into my bedroom and into my closet. I laid down in there. I am writing this in there. I feel safer in here. So much needs to be done before tomorrow but I cant do anything right now. I need to go to the store for the centerpieces...yeah that isnt gonna happen! My head hurts and my body aches. In my closet I feel safer. So I am just gonna stay in here a little longer praising God that I am here, that my kids werent there, that I am safe, I am loved, I am home, everyone is alright.
Paul watched the news and apparently they said the man that was stealing went for the officers gun and the officer shot him. No word on his condition or if the officer was hurt in the altercation. Does he realize yet that it wasnt worth it? Does he realize the impact of his actions on all that were there? The woman carrying the baby who was about ready to give birth crying saying, "I saw him get shot. I saw it all." Does he realize the nightmares she may have watching a man get shot, holding her sons face away from the scene. What about the kids in the store? Does he realize what they may be feeling right now? Or what about me in the dressing room alone and afraid feeling like at any minute someone was going to walk in there open the doors and shoot me? Does he know I am sitting in my closet right now afraid to be in the open? Was it worth it?

Quick Update
Our dossier is in country and we were told there was an issue. A few items were missing or needed updated. So we got those items and will be sending them to get appostilled tomorrow then heading back over to Bulgaria. We hope this doesnt affect our travel. I could be traveling anywhere between now and 8 weeks from now. That is a ball park estimate.
We are getting ready for our Spaghetti Dinner fundraiser. It is this Friday at Harvest Church in Texas. I hope to see ya'll there. If you cant make it you can donate 5.00 that not only will help bring our boys home but also will go to feed 1 homeless person that evening.
https://www.wepay.com/events/beck-spaghetti-dinner?utm_campaign=tickets&utm_medium=link&utm_source=facebook&ref_uid=878188
We also have an online auction going on right now. We add items almost daily to it.
https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.365510163533593.87291.100002238362642&type=1&l=afbe34ef58
Another incentive to donate to our adoption is the chance to win a 100.00 gift card. Our friend Adeye over at No greater joy mom http://www.nogreaterjoymom.com/2012/10/a-giveaway-to-bring-them-home.html is offering a giveaway. Check it out. We are listed under number 1 with the auction. Bid on our item or donate to our adoption and then leave a comment on her blog and you will be entered to win 1 of 3- 100.00 gift cards!!!! Its that easy!
Thank you all so much for taking the time to help us bring our boys home. We feel so blessed to have this support.
Little update on Micah
He is talking a lot more. Doing really well. Getting along great with the kids and making great strides. He has some issues that we are working on but he is definitely a kid with great potential. It hurts that the foster family and caseworker never thought so.

Our 1st ever Buddy Walk!
Today was our very first Buddy Walk. We were all super excited. Micah actually didnt understand where we were going. I thought he would love it but then I remembered he hates crowds. He didnt have any outbursts or anything he just wanted held a lot and was overly focused on food.
All in all it was an awesome day! Can't wait to do this every year!!!
be blessed
He got his picture taken with the cheerleading squad who all fawned all over him (can you blame them). Then he got his picture with 3 beauty queens. One even gave him an autographed picture. See what that extra chromosome gets you!!
He got to sit in a firetruck, go in a bouncy house, hug lots of people and people in costumes. Micah listened to music, ate with his friend and family, walked most of the buddy walk, got his picture taken a lot and met other kids that sport that little something extra like him. He made monkey face cupcakes, made a tile craft and had a very good time.
All in all it was an awesome day! Can't wait to do this every year!!!

Putting 2 and 2 together
First Let me tell you about what made/makes Micah go to the bathroom 10x a day. SUGAR. Yep! How do I know this? Today we had a tailgate party at church and it was a basic free for all for the kids. Cookies, cakes, donuts, candy they tried them all. Then we went to a trunk or treat hosted by our adoption agency Gladney. I allowed the kids to eat some of the candy there.I thought it would be a real treat for them since we dont really give them a ton of sugar at home. After that we had to go to our adoption group. When we picked the kids up they told us Micah had 4 poopy diapers in 30 mins. He had another one right after that on our way home from church. So now we know.
That would also mean if he was pooping 10x a day everyday at the foster families house then all he was eating was junk and sugar. The foster mother told us after he ate breakfast at school especially pancakes with a lot of syrup he would start pooping. He was tiny and pooping all the time because they fed him junk from sun up to sun down. My poor boy.
Next I want to tell you about what happened yesterday. We had a very busy day. Well our last activity of the day was a down on the farm day we had at Ride with Pride. That is where AJ takes her riding lessons. The 4H group opened up the ranch to SN kids and their families for a day of free barnyard fun.
Micah seemed ok. There were farm animals there. Miniature horse and donkey, he seemed fine petting them. He got more nervous with the big horses. I really dont think he had ever seen animals like these before. The chicken and the baby calf he seemed to enjoy petting. We were going to let all the kids ride the horses, but before that we went into the chicken coop area to look for eggs. In was in the back of the one barn. The door was metal and large it was open and inside was a large wooden wall full little square doors that had locks on them. Inside the doors were fake eggs. When we stepped into the room he froze. He started screaming NO NO NO! His body went stiff, he cried real tears.
Paul and I have never seen him like this. We both looked at each other like what do we do? I picked him up and instead of conforming to me he stayed stiff screaming. I tried to show him the eggs and he screamed like I have never heard before. He was terrified. There is no other word for it. I took him out of the room and we went to the horses. I was still carrying him and he was still very stiff. He kept looking back at the door. He didnt settle down for awhile.
After that we went home and it was near bedtime. He was misbehaving which he hadnt been for awhile. The next day at church he was really bad. He wouldnt listen, he was aggressive and the teacher said she didnt know why he was acting this way. He refused to listen the rest of the day as well. Another thing is he was really wanting a lot of food yesterday. He was looking for it and taking food again and wanting just a lot of food. Something triggered this. I wish I knew what he went through the last 6 years of his life at least I think I want to know, but maybe I dont. If a locked door and dirty looking room can do this to him do I really want to know what happened?
All I can do is let him know that we are in this for the long haul. We love him and he is ours. We are mom and dad and no matter what he is staying.
Have any of you gone through this? I have never felt so helpless in all my life. When my kids are hurting or scared I hold them and comfort them but I couldnt do that for him. It was the worst feeling of helplessness.

Halfway there!
God is so good isnt He? I bet he is so proud of His body for stepping up and helping save the lives of the "least of these."
We are halfway there! 12500.00 Wow!
Thank you all so much.
Our next goal is to raise 5,000. before travel. So far we have raised 375. Only 4625. to go! We can do it. I know we can. We also would love to have at least 150 meals bought for the homeless. It would be awesome to have enough hot meals for every homeless person on the street the night of Oct 26th. You can help by donating a meal to the homeless for 5.00, spreading the word about our dinner, praying for God to provide all 150 meals. We have 38 meals bought so far! Yay!!! Only 112 more to go!
We really hope to see a lot of our local friends come to the dinner. If you are local we would love to have you. If not and you still want to help you can donate your meal to a homeless person.

Numbers
I have 339 friends on facebook. If each one of you bought a ticket to our spaghetti dinner it would cover the cost of my plane ticket. If you live out of state and cant make it that dinner ticket would feed one homeless person on the streets in ft worth. Look at how much good can come from just 5.00 Can you please spare 5.00? One Starbucks? One happy meal? Please. 5.00 could change the life of someone. ♥ Be blessed

My how 2 months of structure, getting medical attention, discipline, food and love can make a difference in a person's life. He is really thriving here. All his teachers and therapist had nothing but good things to say about him. Even the bus drivers and aides. A far cry from what the papers say about him in school and on the bus last year. A lot of the bus papers said that they had to carry him off the bus because he refused to get off. This year they help him off because they have to wake him up and he walks with help from the back to the front of the bus and down the steps with a smile on his face wanting to seeme AJ.
Everyone that sees him comments on how happy he with us. I am glad. It is slow going for all of us but in time we all will feel just like we do with Noah like he was always here always ours.
Be blessed
