I don't know where to even start. I haven't had time to update so I have no idea where I left off. Right now I am sitting in the hospital with a very happy Judah waiting for him to have two procedures. The past 3 days have been a whirlwind. Judah has been so angry for so long. We've tried to help. Psychotropic meds, prayer, therapy you name it. Last week we saw GI and they brought in psych because Judah appeared catatonic, their words. The woman from psych said we have to admit him. I didn't think it would help but after talking to her she assured me it would. Here would be in for about a week. I rearranged our schedule, moved around appointments and procedures and scheduled the babysitter at times when I could go visit him. I took him to psych.
The doctor who saw him at psych seemed out of it, distant and not paying attention. She ask me things over and over. Then what she said next shocked me, "he has mental retardation, he doesn't speak." Something to the effect of because he doesn't talk he must be stupid. Ha! No way lady! After she left I told the staff I didn't want her resting my son. Judah's week long stay lasted about 12 hours. They couldn't help. Behaviors once home were worse. I called the ped and ask her to call Neurology and have them move up an appointment wee had in September.
Sunday at church I took Judah to the alter, prayed over him and just let the floodgates loose. I couldn't hold back the tears. I was broken. This child was too much and deserved so much better than the lifer he had before us. We both needed healed.
We went to the pool to play and Judah has been going under water with hiss sister and he cracked up. He was laughing goofing around and even vocalized a little. It was shocking! His attitude has gotten increasingly better over this week.
We saw neuro and he told us Judah has selective mutism and hypotonic CP. He said we needed a specialist who could deal with Apraxia. He felt that Judah was cognitively intact and very intelligent he just had never be exposed to language or anything so this would be slow but he would get better. He gave me hope. He lads so said that Judah's catatonia was a way for him to go to his happy place and not be bothered or not have to do anything. It was more if a pseudo catatonia which was good news.
Today he is sitting here waiting to have his procedures done to tell us hopefully why he won't eat or poop. For hours earlier he was smiling happy playing and having a great time. Right now he is calm and tired. I've been putting young living stress away oil on him and he seems to be loving it. He is now off of all psychotropic meds and doing well. I'm taking lots of pictures and videos so if it gets bad again I have those to look back on and hold on too.
Misha is doing well. He is set to have the same surgery Judah had on his teeth. Misha will hopefully keep all his but at least 8 need capped. Surgery is risky for him as well due to his Pan Hypo Pit and DI but we know God's got this. Oh I almost forgot Misha gained 10lbs and grew 8 inches in thee last year. The ten pounds was only in the last maybe 3 months or so. Yay!
Please keep us in your prayers. We covet them.
Be blessed
