Paul and I got up extra early to head to the USCIS office before it opened. Apparently every other person in Texas decided today was their day too. We waited line and then the guy told us today really wasnt a good day. Our appointments arent until the 25th but we thought we would go early. So that didnt work out.
Then once again no file. So they said they sent it Wednesday of last week from Houston Texas to Fort Worth Texas. I have no idea why it has taken 6 days and still nothing! I feel like I have prayed through. God know what I want and in His timing it will happen, but please do not say to me "It will happen in God's time" I know this, I understand this, I accept this but hearing makes me want to spit.
I am trying to be ok in the waiting. I am thinking of if we are prepared enough is everything that can be ready, ready? I dont know. Hopefully the file comes soon.
Be blessed
God didn't say natural children are a blessing He said children are a blessing. How they got in my quiver doesn't matter because they are all my arrows.

USCIS appointment and waiting
First let me talk about our international adoption. We got our USCIS fingerprint appointment! July 25th at 12. We are going to try to go tomorrow morning and see if they can squeeze us in. Fingers crossed!! The process to bring home our Bulgarian princes is going good.
Now on to Micah.
Wednesday they said they mailed the file to our agency. So they sent to from Houston to Fort Worth. It still has yet to arrive. To say I am bummed would be an understatement. Micah turned six on Friday and our bold prayer was to have him home by then. God has other plans and that is ok by us. We know His plans are always greater than ours.
All things work together for good for those who love God and are called according to His purpose. Romans 8:28
If they don't get the file today we are hoping to get a hold of someone in Houston and ask them if we can read the file in Houston. Also making sure if we do that we can see him the next day. This child has waited long enough so it is time to get him home forever.
We still need childcare to take care of the kids at home while we go to Houston or if someone would be willing to lend us a teen to take with us, then we would take the kids and have someone watch them. I know it will all work out exactly how it is suppose to.

Please pray for us.

DSPTC Annual Swim Party
Today was our first DSPTC swim party. We werent able to take Micah this year but every year from now on we will be. As I looked around into the sea of almond shaped eyes I felt calm and peaceful, safe. I felt like I belonged. It was an odd feeling. There were children and people all around, lots and lots of people yet the whole place felt calm and safe. I never once worried about my children or the kids playing with or around them. It was an unexplainable feeling. It was amazing.
It was fantastic to be there, but something....no someone was missing and my heart knew it. Every child that walked by I thought of Micah. Is he this size? Maybe bigger? Can he speak like her or him? Does he know how to swim? I wonder if he likes the water as much as these little ones do?
Does he have a dramatic personality? Does he love to laugh?
Is he adventurous and fearless?
Is he social?
Will he be happy with us, here in this house? Will he mourn the life he had? What will our life be like when he comes home? We cant wait, but will he be scared? Will it be sleepless nights and no hugs or smiles but just tears and tears?
Has he ever been around any kids with DS? Has he been on a Buddy Walk? Does he have friends?
All these thoughts were going through my mid as I watched these beautiful families and their amazing kids.
I had a chance to just be when we went and got some pizza and ice cream they had for us. I have never seen so much pizza!!!
Micah was not forgotten by the other mamas there. So many ask me about him and a new friend even brought him a birthday gift. How sweet. I was truly touched.
The scripture says God sets the lonely in families and I really feel like I have found mine. These are people that know how wonderful having a child with DS is and they just want other people to know that too. They want people to look at them not with looks of sympathy but looks of happiness. I got the chance to meet some of the parents of the Kinderfrogs Grads I took pics of. The one mother was so touched by her child's pictures that when she found out who I was she hugged me. When I told her our little boy would be coming home soon she cried. She told me that she was so touched that someone would want to have a child like hers. She knows and even stated he is the best gift ever, but others dont see that, so to have someone want to have a child with DS was so moving to her.
To me, she is the blessed one. She is the one who has gotten to birth a child with DS. Seeing all these families makes me want to have a baby with DS Paul is screaming NOOOOOOOOO! As I type. lol. No more babies I know! Anyways where was I? I had a fantastic time and can not wait for the next event. It was AWESOME!

Micah's 6 today!
Birthdays are kind of a big deal in our house. Here's what Micah's birthday would look like in our home.
He would wake up and run down the steps smiling. Either Paul or I would be making pancakes (no milk since he is allergic) usually chocolate chip pancakes but we would maybe make him blueberry because of his allergies. We would have candles in his pancakes and he would blow them out.
Everyone would be so excited for him and we would talk non stop all day about going to rainforest cafe to have dinner and a lava cake!!!
Then we would make the day run maybe by going to the stockyards or to a movie or swimming. Later in the evening we would open presents and go to rainforest cafe. We would all eat dinner and talk and laugh and freak out at the animals that are so loud or talk about getting rained on if we sit next to the rain. Then the cake will come with a sparkler on it and they would sing to Micah and we would all clap. Everyone would get a piece of the cake.
We would go home stuffed and happy. Then on the weekend his daddy would make him a cake that he really wants maybe a dinosaur or the guy from cars or barney. We would sing again, blow out more candles and maybe even have more presents. At some point he would have his birthday pictures taken by me.
Lots of hugs, lots of pictures, lots of love. It's how we roll :)
But today we pray. We pray we get the file. We pray that he is safe and happy and loved. We pray he has an amazing birthday. We pray he feels so special on this special day. We pray for his birthmom who I am sure remembers the day. We pray for his sibling (s) who remember they have a brother and today is his birthday. We pray that Micah will know us as mom and dad. We pray for our children who know they have a brother, that today is his birthday and yet we can not have him here to celebrate.
We pray.
God is good and faithful. He is writing this story and we trust Him.
Happy Birthday my beautiful child. Your mama loves you!

The Waiting Game
Right now in both of our adoptions we are in the waiting period. I hate it! I mean lets just call it out - it sucks. I have one child who is waiting for us 4 hours away. All we need to do is read the file and say yes then we can visit and hopefully bring him home.
The other 2 boys have no idea they have 2 brothers and 4 sisters, a mom and a dad waiting for them in a little place called Texas. They have no idea they are prayed for and loved. You know I dont think Micah does either. They dont tell the kids in state care they are going to be adopted until I think the day before the visit.
So we sit here and wait and wait and wait and not gracefully.
Please pray that we can bring Micah home this week. Also pray we get our USCIS approval back and appointment.
Thank you!!!

July
I will not cause pain without allowing something new to be born,” says the Lord.
Isiah 66:9 ncv
Today the kids and I were driving to Gladney to drop off Micah's bedding and donkey. I was thinking about July. July once was a sad month for me. Our second child's due date was July 18th. He never made it. God has used that awful time in my life for good. After we lost him I became infertile. We were able to get pregnant with Charidy. Then we had a lot of trouble after her trying to have another child. On July 18th we were told we were having Sarie. How cool is that!
Now we have more reason to celebrate July. July is Micah's birthday month and maybe Gotcha month.
Pain comes and goes in our life and it always will until Heaven, but God is there. He will turn our mourning into dancing. Our joy does come in the morning and He will not cause pain without allowing something new to be born.
So if you are going through some crap right now I am so sorry. Please cling to God and know the joy is coming.
All things work together for good for those who love God and are called according to His purpose.
Be blessed
